John has had a long career as a CEO and sales and marketing executive, as well as a CEO and President for middle-market, private-equity owned companies. John began his career as a sales representative for YKK zipper company and after 5 years was hired by Sanford Corporation, a division of Newell-Rubbermaid. He spent 14 years with Sanford earning many sales awards and promotions, including 2 international postings, and ending his tenure with Sanford as a Managing Director of its UK division. He also was President of their Bernz-a-Matic division during that time.
From there John led a variety of P.E. owned companies as CEO including Atlantic Luggage, Illume Candles, Emess Design Group, Mity Inc. and most recently Raffel Systems in Wisconsin.
He then went on to become CMO and CXO of Visible Supply Chain Management, a 3PL and small parcel shipper in Utah. After Visible was acquired by AP Moller Maersk in August of 2021, John was named President of PC Synergy, a Maersk division which produced a small retail POS software used by 3400 independently owned Mail and Parcel centers within the US. The software is also used by 300 Staples stores in Canada and over 550 FedEx stores in Mexico and the Caribbean.
In his role as CEO of the various CPG companies he has run, he was directly involved as the lead negotiator and due diligence supervisor of over 10 transactions involving the sale or acquisition of various strategic enterprises.
He did his undergraduate work at the University of Missouri – St Louis and received his MBA from Anglia University, Cambridge England. He has been trained in M&A at the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions & Alliances, completing course work to earn multiple certificates of proficiently. Additionally, John has served as Vice Chairman of the Utah Manufactures Association and led a number of philanthropic activities in varies locations across the country.
